About the Department

The Health Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network is responsible for health services for the staff of member organisations and for citizens of the Velocity Interoperability Network. It provides occupational health services, operates clinics at the principal sites, coordinates emergency response, and publishes current health advice for travellers and staff.

The Department was established on 6 September 2026. Its six clinics open between 7 and 11 September 2026; their locations and opening hours are set out on the Clinics page. Emergency first response at Network sites is provided by the Department's 34 trained responders from establishment; the arrangements for transferring patients to hospital care beyond the Network are being settled with the hospitals concerned and will be announced in the Newsroom once agreed.

Responsibilities. The Department's work falls into five areas.

Occupational health

Health assessments, fitness-for-work decisions and workplace health advice for the staff of member organisations.

Clinics

General clinics for staff and citizens at the six principal sites of the Network, open from September 2026.

Emergency response

First response to medical emergencies at Network sites and the public health response to outbreaks.

Health advice

Current advice for travellers to the Network and for staff, updated as circumstances change.

Statistics and reporting

Quarterly statistical releases on attendances, vaccinations, assessments and the capacity of the Department's services.
