Services
The Health Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network provides the services below to the staff of member organisations and to citizens of the Velocity Interoperability Network. Services are provided without charge to those entitled to them. Visitors to the Network may use the Department's clinics and emergency services; a charge may apply for non-urgent care.
Occupational health
- Pre-employment and periodic health assessments for staff of member organisations.
- Assessment of fitness for work following illness or injury.
- Advice to member organisations on workplace health and safe working conditions.
- Vaccination and screening programmes for staff whose duties require them.
Clinics at major sites
- General clinics for staff and citizens at the principal sites of the Network.
- Treatment of minor illness and injury, with referral where further care is needed.
- Repeat prescriptions and routine monitoring for long-term conditions.
- Consultations by appointment; walk-in attendance is accepted for urgent matters.
Emergency response
- First response to medical emergencies at Network sites.
- Coordination of transfer to hospital care where required.
- Public health response to outbreaks of infectious disease within the Network.
- Support to member organisations in preparing emergency and continuity plans.
